DETAILS: Visit Cellardoor Winery for a unique Portland Wine Week tasting flight of sparkling wines spanning nearly a decade with Cellardoor Winery winemakers Aaron and CC Peet.
Grapes can, and are, grown all across the world in latitudes much further north and south than Lincolnville, Maine. But can they be cultivated well? Can you produce quality fruit consistently with the right balance for making great wine? Even with Maine’s unique terroir and ever-changing weather, the team at Cellardoor believes the answer to those questions is yes. Join Cellardoor's winemakers Aaron and CC Peet for a vertical tasting of their Lincolnville-grown traditional method Blanc de Blancs.
Take a journey down terroir lane, tasting multiple vintages of Cellardoor's sparkling Blanc de Blancs, and discover the trials, tribulations, and of course, tasty achievements of growing grapes in Maine.
Today, after 14 years of trial and error, Cellardoor's five-and-a-half-acre estate vineyard, planted with cold-hardy hybrids, has reached maturity. Cellardoor Winery grows L'Acadie blanc, Marquette, Frontenac blanc, and Frontenac gris.
Native Mainers, Aaron, and CC Peet trained at College Cellars in Walla Walla, Washington, and are celebrating their 14th year making wine for Cellardoor Winery. Cellardoor's winemaking facility is located in Lincolnville, Maine, and uses fruit from their Estate Vineyard and premier appellations in Washington, California, and New York states.
The event price includes multiple tastes of different vintages of Cellardoor's Blanc de Blancs, light snacks, and a glass of one of their Estate-grown sparkling wines.
