Five-course gala Wine Dinner & Performance

Featuring Five Acclaimed, Portland Maine chefs! 

You don't want to miss this closing gala wine dinner event during Portland Wine Week! The evening benefits the great work of the Preble Street Teen Center and showcases five (5) generous courses from five (5) acclaimed Portland, Maine chefs, including:

  • Chef Bowman Brown (Elda), recipient of the 2009 Food & Wine Best New Chef Award and a six-time James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest
  • 2018 James Beard Award Best Pastry Chef Semifinalist Ilma Lopez  (Chaval, Piccolo)

  • Course 1 — Baby shrimp in creamy salsa verde with whipped feta, charred avocado, cucumber, and young lettuce Wine Pairing — 2017 Steininger, Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, Niederiosterreich, Austria (100% Cabernet Sauvignon)

  • Course 2 — Savory pea custard with grilled squid, barely cooked peas, beach herbs, finished with a smoked squid broth and beach rose oil Wine Pairing — 2014 Camel Valley, Brut Rosé, Camel Valley, England (100% Pinot Noir)

  • Course 3 — “Oreiller” pâté en croûte with pork, duck, foie gras, morel mushrooms and pistachios Wine Pairing —  2017 Channing Daughters, Rosso Fresco, Long Island, New York (76% Merlot, 11% Syrah, 8% Blaufrankisch, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Teroldego)

  • Course 4 — Milk braised pork loin with roasted parsnips, leeks, pickled mushrooms, garlic demi glas Wine Pairing —  2016 A Tribute to Grace, Grenache, Santa Barbara County, California (100% Grenache)

  • Course 5 — Strawberry, fennel, vanilla mousse, crumble, sponge cake Wine Pairing — 2015 Yves Cheron Domaine du Grand Montmirail, Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, France
