DETAILS: Join New England native, Joan Szkutak, owner of SAMsARA Winery at Browne Trading for a free wine tasting of five beautiful wines. Joan will guide you through a not-to-be-missed tasting. They bring a diverse set of skills to their ownership of a boutique winery that produces limited-release wines from carefully selected micro-sites within Sta. Rita Hill’s and Santa Barbara County’s most distinctive vineyards. The resulting wines are built on balance, harmony with nature, and listening to and responding to the needs of both our vineyards and wines in the cellar; a commitment to making ‘vineyard driven wines’. Joan grew up in Maine and they have maintained a second home on Mount Desert Island since 2001. We’re so excited to have Joan here for Portland Wine Week!
Joan is also planning to open an older bottle from the winery cellar, just for fun and to demonstrate how the wines develop in bottle. Also discounted during the event: everything in Browne Trading’s cheese case, and all in-house smoked seafood (smoked salmon, smoked scallops, etc.).
